The Electric Golf Club of Chicago was organized in 1923 by Joseph P. Simons, Sr. The founding Committe included Al Brown, Joseph Fink, Frank Glassman, Cecil Hurtt, Frank Jaske, Walter Kelly, James J. Ryan, Joseph P. Simons Sr., Jack Stackhouse, William Steinmetz, Charles Weicensang, Saul Weinress, Arthur Wellman and Blaine Williams. They scheduled six tournaments each year. Its members were recruited from the Electric Golf Club of Chicago, an organization of sales and executives of manufacturers, agents, and distributors of electrical materials.
