ENGINEERING MANAGER, ELECTRI-FLEX COMPANY (ROSELLE)

Position Summary Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Interfaces with standards organizations such as: NEMA, CSA, UL
- Engineers and designs new products
- Modifies existing products to meet special applications
- Supervises Quality Assurance personnel
- Utilizes technical expertise to assist in catalog design or revisions
- Maintains library of blueprints for new machine builds
- Maintains a library of blueprints on all product specs
- Responsible for updating BOM and Routers
- Evaluate and approve drawings, routings/MI’s, specs and other documents.
- Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results
- Designs, develops and test and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 4 - 5 years experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency.
- Must have knowledge of computers, machining and assembly practices, tools and fixturing.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and make presentations.
- Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must excel at working in a team environment.

ENTRY LEVEL ELECTRICAL FIELD ENGINEER

Entry Level Electrical Field Engineer with AutoCAD Experience.
Primary duties include:
- Troubleshoot heat trace controls, cables, and system problems.
- Design and assembly of heat trace control panels
- Design heat trace systems
- Available and capable of conducting system start-up with maintenance departments and electricians.
- 2-dimensional CAD drawing using AutoCAD Light
Ideal candidate is:
- able to communicate confidently and clearly
- be proficient in AutoCAD Light

- capable of reviewing and understanding wiring schematics and line diagrams.

Grand-Kahn Electric, Chicago-land’s first registered electrical contractor, is currently accepting resumes and referrals for the position of General Superintendent. At Grand-Kahn we are committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations. With over 100 years of electrical contracting experience, we provide the same customer assurance and satisfaction that we have since 1907. We specialize in the design, installation and service on all aspects’ of the electrical project. Due to our strategic growth, we are currently in need of qualified electrical professionals. This position will be responsible for leading all field responsibilities, and the coordination of Grand-Kahn’s large electrical projects. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager, and will work at the assistance of the Project Manager. Manpower coordination will be the sole responsibility of the General Superintendent on individual projects. Some responsibilities (but not limited too) include:
- Manage and coordinate all manpower on individual projects
- Coordinate all daily work flow. Manage day to day job activities and all necessary inspections, daily log, and field reports.
- Work with PM t represent Grand Kahn to the General Contractor’s Project Team, the Engineering firm and possibly the end user.
- Review construction documents.
- Determine, tools, equipment, temporary items, etc. requirements
- Monitor on-site safety in conjunction with Safety Manager.
- Participate in all job/construction meetings as necessary.
- Supervise multiple electrical projects
- Work with PM to ensure changes to the contract are reviewed and quantified, and that there is clear communication from the PM down through field crew.
- Monitor and coordinate any subcontractors under contract from GK.

- Perform weekly job performance reporting, necessary for successful completion of large projects
- Attend weekly job performance meetings

- Meet with subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are explained
- Ensure that project are completed on schedule and under budget

Title: Quotation Specialist/Customer Service Representative
Purpose
- Generate quotes from incoming RFQs; process orders and order/project management.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates of products requested by Sales, Customer Care Representatives, etc.
- Contact factories and representatives to obtain best-cost information
- Compute cost estimates for products, price escalation, and abnormal freight charges
- Compare manufacturer’s bill of materials to determine pricing and verify accuracy
- Correlate all cost information within the time frame of bid dates
- Assist Sales Department with job quotations
- Coordinate fixture package releases for projects
- Expedite orders, drawings, follow-ups, etc.
- Address change orders with suppliers and customers
- Monitor project folders for successful completion and close out
- Maintain department files
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree; Sales and Marketing emphasis helpful, but not essential
- Two or more years of related experience in the lighting industry preferred; or progressive customer service experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft and Windows based programs as well as general computer and typing skills
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals
- Capacity to successfully interface with internal employees as well as external customers
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Effectively communicate in a variety of customer service situations with enthusiasm and tact; demonstrating problem solving skills and resolving customer complaints while working with all levels of employees and management
