      50% 2-dimensional CAD drawing using AutoCAD Light, we also have 1 full version of AutoCAD 2004; familiarity with both programs

Major responsibilities are as follows:

Manage the technical and administrative aspects of client projects in accordance with timelines, budgets, specifications, and goals.  Interpret client specifications and project requirements.  Develop, manage, and maintain the flow of work processes.  Perform quality reviews and investigate problems.  Maintain communications with project managers, project engineers, and other engineering disciplines.  Track project progress.  Prepare related proposals, reports, and analyses.  Interface with managers, clients, outside contractors, and architects.  Assist the Division Manager with marketing and sales development activities.  Supervise the maintenance of all necessary records, files, technical data, and reports. 

Plan, prioritize, and delegate work.  Supervise, train, develop, and coach group employees.  Provide technical assistance and back-up support for direct reports.  Develop operating procedures and work instructions for the group.  Ensure adherence to quality management system requirements, utilization rates, budgets, and company policies.

We are currently searching for a Commissioning Authority to perform commissioning duties and manage commissioning projects from concept to completion for various clients.  This position reports to the Vice President of Commissioning and has no direct reports.

Major responsibilities are as follows:

Lead and manage the day-to-day commissioning process from Program Development through Post Construction.  Develop and/or review Owners Project Requirements (OPR).  Meet with the design team and review design documents for consistency with the OPR.  Prepare commissioning specifications.  Conduct meetings and prepare meeting minutes.  Review contractor submittals and prepare comments.  Prepare pre-functional checklists and verify contractor compliance.  Observe installation of MEP systems and prepare field reports.  Prepare and implement functional performance tests; identify and document deficiencies.  Review O&M manuals.  Review contractor training plans.  Observe and document contractor training of Owner’s staff.  Conduct systems training as needed.  Prepare systems manuals.  Perform warranty walk through inspections.  Prepare Measurement & Verification (M&V) plans.  Maintain commissioning projects within budget.  Perform other projects/duties as assigned.

Lead and manage the day-to-day process of Retro-commissioning through the steps of planning, investigation, implementation, and verification.

Requirements:

This person is passionate about playing a role in delivering a building and systems that work and meets the Owner’s Project Requirements.  Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Commissioning Certification, and LEEDAP is desirable.  5+ years of experience with building design, construction, and operations is essential.  Background in facility operation and maintenance is required.  Must have a working knowledge of commissioning requirements pertaining to HVAC, LEED, ASHRAE guidelines and standards, DDC control systems, etc.  Ability to manage multiple projects, identify problems, and conduct root cause analysis is essential.   Must have written examples of having been the lead commissioning authority on at least five projects, with three in new construction and two in retro-commissioning.  Strong interpersonal and written skills are required.  Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and MS Project is required.  Proficiency in AutoCAD is desirable.

Structured Cabling/Special Systems:       Estimator/Project Manager in Chicago and surrounding suburbs

Salary Range:     TBD plus benefits

Major responsibilities to include:

  • Finding new sales leads
  • Responding to bid/RFP request from general contractors and architects
  • Follow verbal instructions from team members
  • Place and track material orders
  • Develop RFP documents for selected clients, publish RFP documents
  • Have basic knowledge in low voltage systems including but not limited to V/D Structured Cabling Cat5E/6/6A and Fiber, CCTV Analog and IP/DVR/NVR, CATV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Intercom Systems, Paging/PA Systems, Fire Alarm and AV

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the preparation of RFP response documentation
  • Be able to read and interpret blue prints and specifications
